Start with light and reflections

Walk around the car before choosing your position. Notice how the light describes the panels and where bright reflections hide detail. Open shade or softer morning and evening light can be easier to work with than strong overhead sun. Take a few test frames and check the paint, windows and background before settling on an angle.

Keep the composition deliberate

Choose a background that supports the photograph without competing with the vehicle. Try a front three-quarter view, a clean side profile and a detail shot, then compare what each view communicates. Leave space around the car and watch for poles, signs and other objects appearing to grow out of it.

Build a repeatable shooting routine

Clean the lens, steady the camera and take time to review the frame. With a phone, changing your position can be more useful than applying a dramatic filter. For a vehicle-sale set, include clear exterior, interior and detail photographs that represent its condition honestly.

Edit with a light touch

Start with crop, exposure and colour balance before making local adjustments. Compare the result with the original so the paint colour and details remain believable. Keep an unedited copy and aim for a consistent look across the whole set.
