Les Walking at Blue Tree Studios

17 March, 2011

Blue Tree Studios, in association with Canon Australia, is proud to present "From Capture to Print", the first of their ongoing "hands-on" seminars featuring renowned photographer, artist and educator Les Walkling.

Blue Tree Studios are giving 3 lucky people the chance to attend one seminar evening each for free.Log on to the ACMP face book page for details.

Les is one of the most highly respected and sought-after educators in Australia and has run photography courses since 1993 through the Centre for Contemporary Photography (CCP), and training seminars and professional development programs for the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP), the Australian Commercial and Media Photographers (ACMP), and many of our cultural institutions including the National Gallery of Victoria, the National Gallery of Australia, the National Library of Australia, the National Archives of Australia, and the Australian War Memorial.

The Capture to Print seminar, run from March 28th to March 30th, provides a critical overview of contemporary best practice workflows, from the initial image capture to proofing for pre-press and publications, and the highest quality exhibition printing. It is presented over three separate sessions/nights from 6.00pm to 9.00pm at Blue Tree Studios in Port Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

The seminar is ideal for those who want to realise the benefits of full control over the image-making process. Modern inkjet printers and cameras provide exceptional control, workflow and sales opportunities for the full spectrum of photographers. Commercial, wedding and portrait photographers in particular can take advantage of the unique opportunities provided by fully controlled in-house print operations.

During the seminar participants have the opportunity to photograph and print their own images, utilising the latest state-of-the-art Canon EOS DSLR cameras, large format Canon imagePROGRAF printers, media and inksets.  Blue Tree has arranged acrobats from the National Institute of Circus Artists for the shoot, so the event should be a whole lot of fun and produce some great images!

The seminar is presented as a cohesive experience over three nights, however you can book into just one or more sessions depending on your interest and availability. A discount is offered if you book into all three sessions.  Bookings can be made online at http://www.bluetreestudios.com.au or email the boys at Blue Tree on info@bluetreestudios.com.au.  Additional discounts available for ACMP members by using the code BTSDISC when you book online.

Blue Tree studios plans on running education events throughout the year so hook onto their feeds or subscribe via their web page to be kept up to date.
